The LAAX OPEN 2022 is officially here and as it’s an Olympic year, tensions are high amongst the riders who are using Laax as their last chance to head to Beijing 2022. Luckily for them, Laax has once again built an incredible slopestyle course and halfpipe that is set to play host to one hell of a showdown. Some of greatest riders from all over the planet have assembled in Laax to compete for their chance to take home their cut of the CHF 140,000 prize money in slopestyle and superpipe.

Today we saw the riders blast off their jetlag from Mammoth’s Grand Prix and try and put down their practise runs at 2,252 metres above sea level at the legendary Crap Sogn Gion. With an array of technical riders in attendance, it could be anyone that takes the win. Anna Gasser, Red Gerrard, Chloe Kim, Niklas Mattsson, Yuto Totsuka, Stale Sandbech, Jiayu Liu, Ayumu Hirano and Valentino Guseli were all riding incredibly but with riders like Markus Olimstad, Andre Höflich, Moritz Amsuess and Luke Winklemann competing, the gold is very much up for the taking.

Die LAAX OPEN 2022 sind startklar. Die besten Freestyle-Snowboarder aus aller Welt übernehmen das Zepter für den letzten FIS Snowboard Weltcup vor den Olympischen Winterspielen. Vom 11. bis 15. Januar stehen 180 Snowboarder bei Europas renommiertestem Snowboard Contest im Mittelpunkt. Männer und Frauen rittern zu gleichen Anteilen um insgesamt 140.000 CHF Preisgeld im Slopestyle und in der Superpipe.
Nach den Vorrunden bringt der finale Highlight-Tag am Samstag, 15. Januar 2022, gleich zwei Entscheidungen mit sich. Mittags im Slopestyle und abends unter Flutlicht der Höhepunkt der Woche mit dem Nachtfinale in der Halfpipe am Crap Sogn Gion auf 2.252 m.ü.M.. Wer setzt sich durch und holt sich die prestigeträchtigen Titel? Stehen die Olympiasiegerinnen Anna Gasser (AUT) und Chloe Kim (USA) im Finale? Oder die jungen Wilden rund um Leon Vockensperger (GER)? Was ist mit den LAAX Open Titelverteidigern Yuto Totsuka (JPN) und Niklas Mattson (SWE)? Scotty James (AUS), Jan Scherrer (SUI), Ayumu Hirano (JPN), Katie Ormerod (GBR), Jiayu Liu (CHN), Annika Morgan (GER), Queralt Castellet (SPA) oder auch Andre Höflich (GER), sie alle zählen zum engsten Favoritenkreis für die Weltcup-Entscheidungen in LAAX.
